Our Christian Position

In order to better understand our position as members and electors of Central Christian Free-State, it is necessary that at least a rudimentary understanding of the teachings of our Christian Founder, our Lord Jesus Christ, and that of His Apostles be reached. Thus, we have set out below, some of these teachings, which are relevant to the political and economic questions.

Upon studying these short extracts from holy Scripture, it will become abundantly clear that the road down which successive State and Federal governments have been deliberately steering us, and are still doing so, is nothing short of certain disaster.

A. Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom, disclosed to His servant Moses His Divine Laws, (Commandments), chiselled in stone forever, including, inter alia:

I am the Lord Thy God:

1. Thou shalt have no other gods but Me.

2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.

3. Remember that thou keep holy the Sabbath day.

4. Honour thy father and thy mother.

5. Thou shalt not kill.

6. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

7. Thou shalt not steal.

8. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife.

10 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s goods.

B. When asked “Master, what must I do to obtain eternal life?” our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ answered,

“Keep the Commandments.

Moreover, He proclaimed that the Laws of God are proclaimed in the true profession of the Gospel:

“Think not that I have come to destroy the law or the prophets. I have not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For Amen I say to you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall not pass from the law till all be fulfilled.” Matthew 5: 17-18.

C. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, in His divine wisdom, taught as the true profession of the Gospel, inter alia, in his Sermon of the Mount:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall posses the land.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice’s sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you untruly, for my sake." -
Matthew 5: 3-11.

“Dearly beloved, let us love one another: for charity is God. And everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is charity. By this hath appeared the charity of God in us, because God hath sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live by Him. In this is charity: not as if we had loved God, but because He first loved us, and sent His Son as a propitiation for our sins. Dearly beloved, if God hath so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abideth in us, and His charity is perfected in us.” 1 John 4: 7-12.

“He who is not with Me is against Me: and he who gathereth not with Me, scattereth.” Matthew 12: 30

“By their fruits ye shall know them.” Matthew 7:16

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man gets to the Father, but by Me.” John 14: 6

“Í and the Father are one.” John 10: 30

“If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though you will not believe me, believe the works: that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.” John 10: 37,38

“Come to me, all you that labour and are burdened, and I will refresh you. Take up my yoke upon you, and learn of Me, because I am meek and humble of heart: and you shall find rest in your souls; For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” Matthew 11:28-30.

“If I shut up heaven, and there fall no rain, or if I give orders, and command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people: And my people, upon whom my name is called, being converted, shall make supplication to me, and seek out my face, and do penance for their most wicked ways: then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Ch. 7:13,14.

“Return, you rebellious children, and I will heal your rebellion. Behold we come to thee: for thou art the Lord our God.” Jer. 3:22

“And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both body and soul in hell." Matthew 10:28

“For what shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his soul?” Mark 8:36

“Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment.” Matthew 22:36-38.

“I am the vine; you are the branches: he that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15: 5

“He who does not believe is condemned already”. John 3:18

“If anyone lie with a man as with a woman, both have committed an abomination, let them be put to death:” Leviticus 20:13

“For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood; but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12

“Be ye therefore not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what participation hath justice with injustice? Or what fellowship hath light with darkness?” 2 Corinthians 6:14

“Now we command you , brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.” 2 Thessalonians 3:6
